A “return” for some of the 2023 participants to visit and reconnect with players they met in the summer soccer exchange program in a 1 week trip during their school’s Spring vacation. This is still “an idea” coming from a core group of the 2023 participants on the girls’ team

Our goal is to match interested youth participants in both Inagi and Foster City with each other and allow them to correspond and share their interests and experiences. We will partner with the San Mateo Foster City School District and the San Mateo Unified High School District to move this program forward. This will happen in the Fall of 2024.

The red carpet rolled out by the City, the School District and the Association for the delegation lead by Mayor Takahashi and Chairman Ando helped firmly set a high bar for what we should and could do for a program of this size. Both the formal and informal receptions and programming help build a sold 24 hours of where we were able to really help both city’s leaders see what we could offer each other in terms of cultural exchange possibilities. The association members who helped get everything stood up and executed were invaluable in the networking, planning and execution of these events in just 3 months.
In October of 2022, a delegation of our board members flew to Japan and visited Inagi. The people of Inagi were welcoming and provided us with much entertainment. This marked the first official program undertaken by the Foster City Sister City Association. This visit coincided with the annual Inagi City Festival and allowed the participants to truly get to see all the various facets, businesses and groups that make up our sister city here.
